Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
Self doubt often renders me motionless, so I welcome anything that will inspire me creatively. I heard good things about Big Magic, but I wasn’t prepared for a book that would unstick me from my self-imposed limitations. Elizabeth Gilbert addresses common fears and blockages that keep us from creating, and manages to clear them away. She gives us permission to take our work seriously, but not too seriously, she urges, we must always view creativity as a kind of play. Spiritually inclined, Gilbert sees creativity as a universal power that will align with creative intention, in other words, inspiration can sense our dedication and openness. Big Magic helps us become open, frees us from the barriers of self, and gives us the strength to become ready to receive the gifts of living a creative life.
